The ISEP Diploma in Sustainable Business Practice is a comprehensive and advanced qualification, developed for environmental and sustainability professionals who want to lead transformational change in their organisations. Successful completion supports progression to Full ISEP Membership (MISEP) and Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) status, and allows you to use the DipSBP suffix after your name.

Who is this course for?

The course is designed for ambitious environmental managers and sustainability professionals who want to move into more strategic, leadership-focused roles. As a professional-level qualification (equivalent to Level 7 or Master’s level), ISEP recommends that learners have completed the ISEP Certificate in Environmental Management or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge through experience

What will you learn?

The Diploma is structured across three modules:

  1. Impact of Global Sustainability Megatrends on Business - you will explore key global drivers such as climate change, resource scarcity, disruptive technologies, urbanisation, and globalisation. You will learn to identify the risks and opportunities these trends present to organisations in the short, medium, and long term, and critically assess how they interconnect in a business context.
  2. Sustainable Business Practices - you will examine global frameworks such as the UN Global Compact, along with core sustainability issues like human rights, modern slavery, sustainable procurement, and sustainability reporting. This module helps you evaluate your organisation’s sustainability maturity and understand the principles and practices required to embed sustainability across the business.
  3. Leading Sustainable Change - you will focus on the leadership, ethical, and strategic elements needed to embed change effectively. Topics include change management, organisational structure, communication strategies, financial tools, and motivational theory. You’ll develop the skills to build compelling business cases for sustainability initiatives and lead meaningful transformation.
