We are delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Daly as the new Chair of the ISEP Republic of Ireland group. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Tony Grace for his commitment during his time as Chair; his contributions have been greatly valued.

With Alan’s appointment, we look forward to the next chapter for the Republic of Ireland group. His focus on strengthening member engagement, fostering collaboration, and expanding opportunities for professional development will help ensure the group continues to provide value to environmental and sustainability professionals across Ireland.

Meet Our New Chair

Alan brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to advancing environmental and sustainability practice. "I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of ISEP Republic of Ireland and to support the continued development of our network.

I would like to personally thank Tony Grace for his leadership, commitment, and partnership over the past few years. Tony has made a significant contribution to the Republic of Ireland group, and I welcome his continued involvement.

My priority as Chair is to help strengthen member engagement and ensure our diverse group provides a practical, welcoming and useful forum for environmental and sustainability professionals across Ireland. I look forward to working with a refreshed Steering Committee, ISEP colleagues and members to build on the strong foundations already in place and to support a varied programme of events, networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities."

Alan is Chair of the ISEP Republic of Ireland Group, having previously served as Vice-Chair since 2023. He is a Practitioner Member of ISEP and works as a Senior Manager in Climate Change and Sustainability Services for EY Ireland. Alan has over 20 years professional experience with expertise across sustainability strategy, ESG reporting (primarily CSRD and ISSB), impact, risk and opportunity materiality assessment, regulatory gap assessments, responsible sourcing, supplier due diligence and sustainability programme implementation. Prior to moving into sustainability 5 years ago, Alan had a successful marketing career. He has worked with a wide range of organisations, primarily those across the FMCG, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, automotive, hospitality, biotechnology and public sectors.

About Owen

Owen Cahill is a is a Chartered Environmentalist with over 15 years' experience in the Environmental Management and Construction Industries in the Republic of Ireland (ROI). He has worked in Environmental Management and consultancy for over 9 years’. His experience ranges from environmental impact assessment for renewable energy development, public services and infrastructure projects, the extractive industry as well as public and private residential development. He has also worked in the area of environmental compliance management and audit of developments during construction and operation. Having recently joined the ISEP Impact Assessment Steering Group, Owen has previously served on the ROI Steering Group working on the growth of networking between environmental professionals and helping to develop ISEP membership in Ireland.

About Aoibhin

Aoibhín is a Consents Manager (Offshore Renewables) with SSE Renewables with 14 years’ experience across Europe and Australasia working in consultancy and on behalf of developers. She leads impact and risk assessments, planning approvals and consents for strategic development with a recent focus on offshore renewables. She has managed and contributed to a range of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Health Impact Assessment (HIA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), social, socio-economic, population and climate change assessments, resilience and sustainability studies, environmental and social due diligence for infrastructure and masterplans, led stakeholder engagement, formulated and co-authored policy on behalf of local and central government for housing, active transport, green infrastructure and climate change adaptation.

About Caroline

Caroline Donnelly is currently the Lead Consent Strategy Manager for onshore development for SSE Renewables on the island of Ireland. Caroline has over 26 years of environmental science experience in Ireland, Australia, and Kenya. This experience includes the preparation of planning applications for onshore renewable energy projects, site investigations and remedial projects at a variety of sites, preparation of Industrial Emission Licence applications for pharmaceutical sites and waste sites, undertaking environmental legislation audits, preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Irish EPA research projects. Caroline is a Fellow Member of Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (FISEP) and a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv).

A Environmental Advisor and Chartered Environmentalist working for Costain in Republic of Ireland. My experience and interests include Environmental Management Systems, responsible sourcing, sustainability strategy development and implementation and project management.
