About Carol

My name is Carol Martin and I am the current ISEP Steering Group Chair in Northern Ireland. I have a Degree in Environmental Science and a Masters in Environmental Management. I have been an ISEP member since its inception and have worked in Conservation and Environmental Management throughout my career. As a consultant I have written Environmental and Quality management systems for companies in NI. As a Volunteer for ISEP I like to facilitate the sharing of Knowledge, Expertise and Support to all our regional members through networking. I am delighted that the profile for Environmental Protection is growing globally and more people are recognising the need to act responsibly with future generations in mind.

About Elena

I have become involved in environmental management since I have started my health and safety career back 20 years ago and in 2014 I completed ISEP's environmental management certificate. I am very passionate about protecting and promoting biodiversity and in particular, trees, birds and bumble bees.

About Mary

Mary has worked in the environmental sector for over 15 years and her main interest is impact assessment. She is interested in how effects are measured in EIA and the communication of these results. Mary is also interested in transboundary assessment in EIA.

About Fergal

An outgoing, driven and committed individual with a passion for the environment and a keen interest in fitness, undertaking activities such as hiking, cycling, running and surfing. I've established my own company in recent years, offering expertise in environmental and ecological consultancy. With over 9 years of experience in the industry, I’ve worked on various projects and gained invaluable expertise within compliance, ecology, and resource efficiency arenas. A large part of my current work involves the production of Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitat Regulation Assessments, Invasive Species Management and Construction Environmental Management for various scales of developments throughout the island of Ireland. I’ve extensive experience in priority species surveys, including Bats, Badgers, and Otters, and habitat assessments, including Phase I and Fossitt habitat surveys. I’ve wide-ranging experience as an Ecological Clerk of Works, working with contractors on development projects, and overseeing the implementation and adherence of both wildlife and environmental regulations.

Over the last fifteen years I have worked across a range of industries including Construction, Regulatory, Water and Manufacturing with demonstrable experience in carbon accounting, environment management, and training and development. This diverse background has equipped me with a broad skill set and a comprehensive understanding of different industry dynamics. I am passionate about collaboration and process improvement with an overall goal to try and maximise value and impact. Keen to stay up to date with the latest climate science, I am currently studying for a PG Cert in Climate Change at Queens University, Belfast.
