As part of the ESOS Lead Assessor approval process ISEP hold a mandatory one-day ESOS workshop (N.B. the workshop needs to be taken within six months of the main ESOS assessment). It is also available to attend as a stand-alone workshop if you can demonstrate that you have the correct level of knowledge and experience and that you are actively working towards meeting ISEP’s membership eligibility criteria to become an ESOS Lead Assessor. Click here to check eligibility criteria for ESOS.

  • The training day will only count towards an application to join ISEP’s Lead Assessor register in conjunction with a successful application and assessment.
  • All attendees are expected to have a background in energy management methods and demonstrate they have the experience set out under Eligibility. The course is not appropriate to new entrants to the energy sector.
  • Attendees will be required to complete pre-course reading, prepare a case study and complete a self-assessment against the technical and non-technical knowledge and skills required of an ESOS assessment team before attending the course.

By attending the workshop, you will:

  • Get an introduction to the ESOS scheme and its requirements.
  • Be confident that you have the energy-specific knowledge which all Lead Assessors require.
  • Complete the training element of the ISEP ESOS application process.

If you wish to apply to join as an ESOS Lead Assessor, or only wish to apply to attend the workshop as a stand-alone event, please contact info@iema.net to request a copy of the relevant application form.
