We’ve partnered with The Carbon Literacy Trust to develop a range of pathways that help organisations and professionals build carbon knowledge and sustainability skills to deliver meaningful climate action.

Membership with the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) supports professionals delivering this work on a daily basis, providing access to resources, professional recognition, and opportunities to further develop their skills and support others to do the same. A day’s worth of Carbon Literacy training provides every employee, whatever the industry, with the knowledge and motivation to start taking climate action.

Together with The Carbon Literacy Trust, we’re committed to embedding sustainability skills across sectors, empowering professionals to not only reduce their own environmental impact but also influence positive change within their organisations, sectors, and communities – accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy.

By combining measurable staff training with strategic guidance, this partnership ensures sustainability is embedded in both daily operations and organisational strategy — helping teams take meaningful action, increase knowledge, and showcase their commitment.

1. Carbon Literacy certified, but new to ISEP

Building on your Carbon Literacy

You’re already certified Carbon Literate and ready to go beyond your pledged actions? Great! Take the next step and subscribe to ISEP Essentials membership to access resources to continue your journey. Or, join an ISEP training course to dig deeper into the specific sustainability topics that are relevant to you.

For a certified Carbon Literate citizen, an ISEP training course is the next step in your professional development. Carbon Literacy provides you with a strong base of climate awareness and responsibility, while ISEP courses help you to build technical, operational and strategic skills for practical application of what you’ve learned.

This progression pathway enhances your ability to contribute to and lead organisational sustainability initiatives with confidence and credibility.

With many sustainability professionals working solo or separately from other teams, it can be difficult to carry out a sustainability strategy when your colleagues don’t know how to support it.
