It’s easy to join. If you have graduated from a relevant degree in the last 3 years you will be eligible for Graduate Membership. For your degree to support your eligibility you will need to have studied a significant level of sustainability content. Simply provide proof of graduation at point of application, use the checklist to confirm the relevant content and you are well on your way to achieving GradISEP.

There must be sustainability content within your degree, as matched to the following six criteria:

I was a student member of ISEP whilst pursuing my masters. I enjoyed being in a community of like-minded professionals, simultaneously learning a lot from everyone I met. I used to plant trees every year during heavy rain season, but I never knew that this is a global requirement under ISEP to promote sustainability. This course has helped me to widen my perspective on environment. Now I know that the little change I make to mitigate climate change it's for the present and future generations. Different people like to learn in different ways which is why we offer two routes to achieving Associate membership. If you already have the appropriate environment and sustainability knowledge then the direct study route allows you to register for the Associate exam. If, however, you prefer a course that is delivered either in a classroom or through e-learning there is an approach to learning that works for you via an ISEP approved training partner.

This course provides a great way for you to get a foothold and demonstrate your competence in this kind of work. The Associate Direct Entry Exam is a 30-question multiple choice exam which will take 1 hour to complete.
You can choose whether to take the Environmental or Sustainability version of the exam based on your individual skills and knowledge.

When you apply, you’ll need to select that you are eligible to fast-track and upload a valid copy of your course certificate that falls within this timeframe.

I used to teach English in an FE College but wanted to change my career and work in Sustainability, to help protect the environment. Completely retraining in my new career would have been impossible without ISEP's help and support. ISEP helped me get a grounding in the topic through their structured membership levels and training programme. I am now completing the Certificate in Environmental Management and hope to be accepted to practitioner level soon.
I thought I had a good understanding of Environmental issues that occur within various Environments. Becoming a Committee Member of the Scotland East Regional Steering Group has given me a sense of professional purpose and responsibility in conveying the message of sustainability, even though I am not currently employed in the Sustainability sector.

I came late into the Environmental Field, but from onboarding 5 years ago I found that I really thrive in the space. Joining ISEP and working to secure my qualification was such an achievement in my life. If you already have experience in an environment and sustainability role you can apply for Practitioner membership directly with ISEP. This involves completing an online exam which, once passed, is then followed by a written case study assessment. Our Practitioner Assessors will review your assessment and once they are happy you meet the Practitioner Standard, you will be able to use the PISEP suffix.
Certified Course – Complete the ISEP Certificate in Environmental Management course via an ISEP approved training partner. After the course you must complete three knowledge-based assignments which is administered and marked via the training partner delivering the course.

Direct Study - If you already have the appropriate environment and sustainability knowledge, you can complete an online, one-hour multiple choice exam, assessing that you have the level of knowledge required of a Practitioner member. This is administered by ISEP.

Eligible to fast-track? If within the last three years you have completed an ISEP approved degree then you can apply for an exemption to the exam, meaning you will fast-track straight to the written assessment of competence.
Written Assessment of Competence (Written Submission) - Once you have successfully completed one of the routes above, ISEP will contact you via email to complete your written assessment of competence.
Within the assessment of competence, you will be required to submit written evidence of up to four case studies demonstrating how you apply your environment and sustainability knowledge and skills in the workplace, to the level required in the Practitioner standard. Each of your case studies will need to be verified by a witness, which could be a manager, colleague or client.
You will be given 3 months from the date of receiving your confirmation email from us to submit your written assessment of competence.

Practitioner Assessment Guidance Document: We have developed a guidance document which includes example case studies to provide you with hints and tips for completing your assessment of competence. When crafting your written submission, make sure you refer to this guidance document as well as the Practitioner member standard to ensure you cover all the competencies.
Practitioner Assessment Form: Once you have applied either online or via a Training Provider, and completed the first step of your application, you will need to complete your written assessment of competence on the template we’ve created for you. This will help you structure your assessment.
Application Verification Form: When you’ve have completed your written assessment of competence, you will need to identify someone who can verify your account of what happened and the role you played, as written within your case studies. This form will need to be completed by your verifiers and sent back to ISEP.

The Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) designation is an accreditation which recognises the level of professional practice of people operating within the environmental sector, aligning with ISEP’s Practitioner level membership.
It signifies a standard of environmental expertise, practice, and skills held by professionals spanning the breadth of academia, government, industry, consultancy, and other public and private sectors.
You can apply for Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) if you are an existing Practitioner of ISEP (PISEP). Alternatively you can apply for the REnvP at the same time with your application to PISEP.

I joined ISEP in May 2021 as an affiliate member. As a founding committee member of the Chartered Quality Institute's (CQI) sustainability special interest group established the same year to promote sustainability within the quality profession in practical terms through the provision of a forum where quality professionals network, exchange best practices and ideas, and share material on sustainability issues, I needed to join a globally respected professional body on environmental management and sustainability to enhance my knowledge and skills. Although based in Nigeria, joining ISEP provided me access to CPD opportunities, which enabled me to stay up-to-date with the latest trends, legislation, and best practices in environmental management, which I in turn used to provide valuable insights to other quality professionals. In 2023, in order to progress my membership in ISEP, I completed the ISEP certificate in environmental management (CEM) qualification, which further improved my ability to implement effective environmental management and sustainability initiatives for my clients. In February 2024, I achieved recognized professional status with ISEP by becoming a practitioner member of the institute. This professional recognition has enhanced my credibility, leading to new opportunities. This professional recognition has further reassured my clients of my commitment to professionalism and ethical practices. ISEP provides a wealth of resources, including guidance documents, case studies, and research reports, which are invaluable for me as a management systems consultant seeking to implement best practices in environmental management, and I'm happy to be a part of a global network that provides ample opportunities to connect with other professionals in the field, facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration on projects or initiatives.
As a sustainability officer at a multi academy trust, I have found ISEP CPD and resources invaluable. As a sector to which sustainability is a relatively new area of focus, there is little sector specific guidance and CPD. The quality of the content provided by ISEP and the certified training courses means that I now have the skills and knowledge to apply to my sector and context.
I joined ISEP 2 years ago and I am happy I made that decision. I am having backgrounds in M.Sc. Environmental and Earth Resources Management and a B.Sc. in Natural Resources Management. I am currently with Azumah Resources Ghana Limited as Environmental Officer. As part of my responsibilities in my company, I do routine inspections and periodic internal auditing. I also carry out water quality monitoring to assess quality issues and compliance. i doubled as a community relation officer which means stakeholder engagement and community entry meetings. As an academic of 30 years, I'm used to reading, studying and working to deadlines. However, these days I am much more comfortable setting exams than sitting them. And although I have published on many aspects of sustainable development, I haven't had much contact with the coalface of business strategy, product development, marketing and compliance. Taking the ISEP Certificate in Environmental Management with Dave Evans at Act Sustainably, I have rediscovered the excitement of being a student, learning new skills and striking out in a new direction. Working alongside tri-sector professionals, the ISEP pathway has opened up a new world of consultancy and collaboration in which I will be able to start contributing to real change on the ground within institutions (not least my own university) and companies. Opening up new areas of work, I couldn't be more excited about the prospect of eventually becoming a MISEP Chartered Environmentalist.
As a member of ISEP, I have found tremendous value in the resources and support they provide. The access to a wide network of professionals and the opportunity to attend career events have been invaluable for my career growth. Having joined ISEP last year, I can already feel ISEP's impact towards shaping sustainability professional's career journey and developing the knowledge of the wider community. The ISEP has a wide and diverse membership all of whom unite in their work with the environment. Frequent news updates via email are useful in highlighting changes in legislation and the webinars are not only topical but feature some of the leading talent in the industry. There are also so many opportunities to get involved, from local coffee mornings to lobbying government, and it really feels like a community. Being part of ISEP has really been instrumental in my career journey. My understanding and knowledge of Environmental and Sustainability issues has been heightened through the application of lessons learnt during my course. ISEP is indeed an avalanche for Environmental and Sustainability development.
I have spent over 30 years working in the waste recycling industry (specifically metal recycling). I was a safety professional for many years , but the company I work for wanted to combine both safety and environmental roles. I had a very good practical understanding of environmental and sustainability management at metal recycling sites, but had no formal qualifications and lacked the underpinning knowledge to fulfil this new role. I therefore completed the ISEP Certificate in Environmental Management and became a Practitioner Member of ISEP (PISEP). The qualification I undertook and the tuition I received to achieve it was truly inspirational. This experience was also shared by other delegates on the course I attended. I would go as far as to say that it has changed my outlook on sustainability. I apply what I have learned to both my work and personal life and have become a strong advocate.
When I joined ISEP in 2014, I'd just started out in the world of sustainability. My job then was dedicating 50% of my time to developing a corporate social responsibility policy for a chain of schools. I studied for my Certificate in Environmental Management in 2015, which enabled me to become a Practitioner member of ISEP in 2016. I now work in the public sector, delivering net zero for a government body that regulates more than £2 trillion of investments in the UK. ISEP has been pivotal in getting me to where I am - the various networks, regular communications, training opportunities and peer group all give a coherent foundation on which to build any career in sustainability and environmental management.
Being a member of ISEP has helped my career in a number of ways so far. The access to knowledge and further CPD through various webinars and through TRANSFORM magazine has kept me in the loop with key changes in the environmental and sustainability sectors that apply to my role. ISEP is also a well-known and recognised badge to show prospective employers that you're committed to best practice in the environmental sector and the ISEP Code of Professional Conduct. The development pathway of moving from a Graduate member to a Practitioner member was clear and gave direction through the Sustainability Skills Map, and the opportunities to be consulted for policy changes at governmental level mean you can have a real input into policymakers' decisions. I've also been a member of my local ISEP Steering Group for the last 3 years and it's been great to get more involved in organising events for our local members, as well as a good opportunity to network with peers across the environmental sector.
ISEP provides me with all the updates training and webinars that keeps my industry knowledge up to date, as well as giving learning opportunity in innovation or current topics. Also the ability to undertake the Practitioner exam has allowed me to have further recognition for my knowledge and particularly industry experience. The resources and support offered to progress is also really beneficial.
I came to environmental management fairly late in my career with my only science qualification being an o'level in biology. At the age of 50 I undertook a CIPS qualification which involved six exams so when I began looking at a professional qualification for environment (age 53), I swore that I didn't want to 'do exams' again. ISEP offered a fantastic opportunity to gain a professional qualification by using my practical experience and expertise rather than textbook. I undertook six modules, wrote six short dissertations and passed with no difficulty. Being able to use the PISEP membership adds gravitas to how I am perceived in my industry and I have earned a lot of respect from being able to demonstrate professional membership alongside my experience. You don't need to be a young graduate to progress in this profession and ISEP recognises this.
ISEP's frequent insightful information on netzero, energy transition, sustainability, Circular econmony and green skills published via email publibcation and webnars have been very helpful in updating my knowlegde and understanding of the present environmental and sustainability issues and provides a focus for my objectives and goals, and influence as environmental and sustainability manager of my organisation.The interaction ISEP offers through regional online meetings allows interaction and peer-to-peer sharing of practitioner perspectives, which strenthens my confidence for executing environmental and sustainbility initiatives for my organisation. For example I'm able to define the strategies for Decarbonisation and zero-routine flare for my organisation's operation.
In 2015, while conducting online research, I fortuitously encountered the International Environmental Management Association (ISEP). Intrigued by its reputation and the vast repository of knowledge it promised, I was prompted to delve into the comprehensive tome, [John_Brady]_Environmental_Management_in_Organizations. With a background as a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional, my forte had primarily been on the safety dimensions. However, upon undertaking a major pipeline construction initiative, I became acutely aware of the intricate environmental considerations intrinsic to such expansive projects.
I am a construction manager, not a full time environmental manager. However sustainability and environmental matters affect all walks of life. When I build, I try to ensure that the built environment is as sustainable as possible. One of my most enjoyable construction projects was roadworks on the banks of the Nile in Uganda. Any pollution would have had a potential effect all the way to the Mediterranean. Applying my environmental training helped the project win words of praise from the Ugandan authorities.
When I started out on my journey into environment and sustainability, which was probably later in life than most, there were two key things which I wanted / needed. Academic leaning in a relevant field and professional recognition. During my academic studies, I completed my ISEP Foundation and Certificate in Environmental Management. Despite still studying, my ISEP qualifications enabled me to take up a role in my company as Environmental Manager, subject to completing my under grad qualification. This was simply due to the reputation of ISEP. Since completing my BSc I have changed employers twice and have broadened my knowledge from environmental management into wider sustainability and diversifying into other sectors. Being a practitioner with ISEP has been key in achieving this. I have also gone on to complete my ISO 14001 lead auditor course and more recently a diploma in sustainable business practice (DipSBP), both of which are ISEP certified. One of the most valuable elements of ISEP is being able to engage with peers to learn and share experiences and practices. I feel that I am now at the stage where I can transition from ISEP practitioner to full member which will help in recognising my achievements within sustainability and help with my career progression.
ISEP is the best choice to understand the actual meaning of current situation of climatic changes around the globe. ISEP really helps people to manage their personal life towards the global warming awareness and biodiversity, carbon emission and impact and aspects of environment. Before I joined ISEP back in 2020, I was struggling to get my foot in the door with a job that I loved and a career in sustainability, without any of the traditional analytical skills that were required for entry level roles. I was pointed in the direction of IEA by a fellow health and safety colleague who mentioned that my auditing experience might be relevant to an environmental auditor course. After searching through the websites resources and webinars targeted to those who are thinking about sighing up to different levels of membership, I decided to study for the Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management in my spare time. It gave me a basic understanding of planetary cycles and carbon while at the same time allowing me to relate my current auditing skills into practice during the ISO 14001 modules. After passing my exam and becoming an Associate member, I did not only feel more confident in my sustainability skills and ability to go for a career in such, I was finally getting positive responses to my dream job applications. The process made so much sense for me and I wish someone had introduced me to the opportunity during my university years. 3 years on and I am now a Practitioner member in a job that I love, using IEA resources to stay ahead of company changes. I have recently applied to be on the new Natural Capital and Biodiversity Steering group, in the hopes of contributing to this great platform.
Since studying the ISEP Certificate of Environmental Management I have vastly improved my understanding and knowledge of environment and sustainability in the UK and worldwide. This course is the only place I know of that pulls all of the information together to enable me to demonstrate my competence in the field. I am really enjoying learning so much and across many different disciplines from science & policy to law and social governance.

I started my journey with ISEP back in 2018 as an Associate Member. I was looking for a place that I could learn more about the environment having just taken on some additional responsibilities at work in my then role as Health and Safety Coordinator. Gradually over the course of the last 5 years I have undertaken several courses from the Foundation in Environmental Management, to just completing my Diploma in Sustainable Business Practise. During that time I've also successfully moved into a Sustainability and ESG Management position within a prominent company with a global footprint, and I also sit on the ISEP Climate Change and Energy Steering Committee. I have no doubt that ISEP has been instrumental in the success of my career, and I will continue to develop my membership as my career progresses with Full Membership as my next milestone.

If you are working in a role which is largely focused on Environmental Management or similar, the dual accreditation of Full with Chartered Environmentalist (MISEP CEnv) may be the best route for you.
If you work in a social or economic oriented role, you could explore your option of gaining CEnv status to decide whether it’s right for you (the assessment process is the same for either option). If you feel it’s an accreditation you don’t need then you are free to go ahead and apply for Full membership on its own.

To register your application, complete the online application and pay the application fee.
Submit your supporting documents (written submission, CV, verification form, and photographic identification) within four weeks.
The Membership Team will send your documents to one of our Full Member Assessors for an initial review and will then arrange your interview.
Your interview will take place at a time which suits both yourself and your Assessors. The interview itself will last no longer than 90 minutes.
Finally, your overall result will be sent to you within six weeks of your interview.
Once you have applied online, you’ll need to start working on the written submission part of your assessment. This is due four weeks from the day of your online application submission, so don’t delay.

Don’t forget, you should refer to each of the competencies of the Full Member Standard as you write your written submission to ensure you’re on the right track.
The interview is a peer-to-peer discussion with two of ISEP's Full Member Assessors. You'll discuss your knowledge and experience as they relate to the 13 competencies of the Full Membership Standard, the Code of Professional Conduct and your Continued Professional Development (CPD) goals. Your interview will take place online via Microsoft Teams so you don't need to make any costly or inconvenient travel arrangements.
If your Assessors are satisfied that you meet all of the competencies outlined in the Full Membership Standard, you will achieve MISEP (and CEnv if applicable) status.

After finishing my BSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Science, I wrote to every environmental consultancy in my local area, expressing my interest in working for them and sharing my CV. I just wanted to get my foot in the door and get some real-life practical experience. On the day of my graduation I found out I has been offered a graduate environmental consultant position, at a small local environmental consultancy called Galapagos in the West Midlands. I was delighted and set out on my journey into the world of environmental management and sustainability. It wasn’t easy and some of the tasks could be a bit monotonous, filing, printing, mailing, making tea, and my least favourite making cold sales calls. However, it was this role, which first connected me with ISEP. Galapagos delivered ISEP environmental training courses. I was asked to help update the training materials and add some new practical exercises. I then asked if I could attend these courses myself and get my own qualifications. I joined ISEP and became a registered environmental auditor. Now some 25 years later, I am the Global Environmental Lead for WSP, one the largest engineering and professional service firms, with over 68,000 employees in 300 offices worldwide. Throughout my journey ISEP has been ever present in my career. From supporting my continual profession development, expanding my knowledge through training and awareness, to building my network through conferences and events or participating in roundtables. A couple of my highlights include achieving my full membership and Chartered Environmentalist level in 2011. Alongside having articles published in the ISEP magazines and contributing to ISEP publications. This relationship will continue as I am now working towards ISEP Fellowship level, whilst also mentoring junior colleagues in their pursuit of ISEP membership progression.
Way, way back in 1999 I joined the Institute of Environmental Management (IEM) and the Environmental Auditors Registration Association (EARA), just before they merged to form ISEP. Over the past two and a bit decades (yes, I really am that old) I have been a proud and active member of our professional body. ISEP is a fantastic source of information and a true melting-pot for professional collaboration and influence over both industry and government. In all my time as a member I have always felt supported by ISEP and some-what emboldened by the validation that membership has given me. I remember becoming a Chartered Environmentalist in 2006 and my boss at the time (a Chartered Chemical Engineer) told me that I couldn't become "Chartered" because I wasn't an Engineer. This 'underestimation' of the importance of environmental management and sustainability as a profession has always stuck with me as another myth worth busting!
ISEP membership has positively contributed to my success within the environmental sector, it's a centralized knowledge base platform that allows professionals to explore many different topics relating to environmental management and sustainability which will build a strong and resilient green work force.

I have joined ISEP to enhance my professional development and highlight my expertize. ISEP allows me keeping up to date with the developments of standards, regulations and best practices in environmental assessment and environmental governance, as well as participating in webinars and discussions with sustainability industry leaders and top experts in various fields. I also believe that ISEP membership is a valuable professional recognition, which opens new horizons for participation in international projects and initiatives.
Since joining ISEP in 2002, I've benefited being a member in numerous ways. These include but not limited to: Participating in numerous courses and training provided by ISEP or ISEP Accredited Training Providers. Gaining support and encouragement from ISEP for setting up various events for the North Wales Branch which encourages new and enthusiastic members. Really important to keep up to date with environmental news and legislation and this is done via ISEP's Transform magazine, their regular Webinars, their website and their annual "Connect Week". Connecting with Leadership Team - the North Wales Group have reached out on numerous occasions to the ISEP Leadership Team and have always found them to be approachable and have time to talk. Overall, I'm extremely proud to be part of the ISEP Family. An Organisation's reputation is built on the conduct of its members. Members also need a well-managed, coordinated organisation to earn their respect and for them to be proud of. ISEP fulfills this.
As part of my profession, I advise site teams, subcontractors, project managers, contract managers, directors and engineers on the environmental impacts and risks on engineering and construction schemes. My Chartertership and Full Membership of ISEP has given me the credibility to advise on such important issues at both the design and construction stages of engineering and construction schemes. Also, my ISEP membership (CEnv and MISEP) have helped me become a mentor to environmental graduates and sustainability practitioners and since becoming Chartered I have helped 11 environmental professionals successfully achieve their environmental Chartership.
ISEP has helped me in my professional development via workshops and webinars which have counted as CPD both with ISEP and in the workplace. Moving from associate membership to full membership was a catalyst to having more responsibility and autonomy within my role. This gave me the confidence to go for voluntary redundancy and take a change of career path from private to public sector.
I decided to apply for ISEP Full Membership and CEnv more than 20 years into my career as an environmental and sustainability consultant, having previously been chartered through another organisation which had become less relevant to my professional focus. I gained great personal and professional value from the application process, as it gave me the opportunity to really reflect on my achievements to date, consider whether I was still developing professionally and where I wanted to focus my future development, how to 'remain relevant' and how best to continue to deliver value to my profession. Since then, the publications and learning resources available through ISEP have helped to keep me moving forward professionally and allowed me to maintain the knowledge I require to successfully deliver my role against a dynamic backdrop. I really enjoy supporting early career colleagues with progressing their ISEP membership level and their wider career development and I am an advocate for the structure and opportunities that ISEP can provide.
Being a full member of the IEAMA.I am frequently getting updates by receiving various news, and updates related to environmental, and sustainability issues. It's a nice platform where environmentalist can share their views and get worldwide environmental news.
For me the power of ISEP is the community of members. I am passionate about Net Zero and I see sustainable development being at the heart of this journey. A key part of this transition is having the ability to speak with and hear how other practitioners are approaching the challenge where I can cherry pick their approach to the work that I do. Coupled with the people, the resources are excellent and can give a direction to a new piece of legislation or guidance to enable sustainable development.
I joined ISEP early on in my career when my job focused on Environmental compliance. I took courses to progress my membership level and learnt a great deal (both skills and knowledge) on these courses which helped me to take my next steps in my career. I moved on to Environmental Management and later more into Sustainability which remains my current focus.
Being a member of ISEP has provided me with a development pathway to follow, through the various grades and informed by the skills map, along with professional recognition, and access to a whole network of other passionate and committed environmental management and sustainability professionals. I have benefited many times over the years from CPD and training, access to events, resources and the opportunity to input into consultations and reports that shape the industry. But perhaps most important has been the sense of belonging to a community who are all working to transform the world to sustainability.
I joined ISEP over 20 years ago and it’s provided the perfect stepping stones throughout my career at all the right stages. It started with a distance-learning Associate ISEP course from Bath Uni. I have given back when I could, by acting as a regional Chair in Wales. I have working in the Environmental / sustainability field for over 20 years progressing from data gathering and on site compliance to work winning, proving technical solutions and strategy setting in the construction and rail industry I now am implementing sustainable principles across all areas of a family run business withing the food industry. Throughout my career progression ISEP has stood out as the professional body that has helped me develop essential skills ( through numerous training packages) and provided me with a benchmark on how a sustainability professional should position themselves within the business world. I have been a member of ISEP for around 20 years. The support from the peers is tremendous, the ideas and knowledge that members are prepared to share is wonderful. Working in Environmental management and Sustainability can sometime feel that you are fighting a loosing battle in relation to the amount of work that needs to be done. But I find attending training events and networking is inspirational and I come away with a sense of it all being possible. The knowledge shared via the teams of volunteers who work along side ISEP staff mean that this is an organisation that can make a different, not just to developing your career but positively impacting on the direction of travel in relation to sustainable development.
Becoming a member of ISEP early in my career was vital to how I could focus my efforts and develop personally and professionally in the opportunities I have had in transforming positive sustainable change in large organisations over the last 25 years. ISEP was instrumental in my sustainability career journey right from the day I completed my Masters of Architecture (Sustainability). I started off as an Affiliate member to work out the path and in 10 years, I became a Fellow. ISEP's resources and networking events are useful for us to share our experience and knowledge at the same time learn from others to implement in our roles/projects. I find ISEP's Transform magazine and other specialists groups helps us to keep up-to-date with the changes that are happening in the UK and elsewhere. I strongly recommend graduates and others levels in sustainability career to become a member of ISEP to be recognised in the sustainability sector. We, as a sustainability professional got more responsibility to bring a sustainable change in this world to combat against climate change and social justice.
ISEP membership has been a fundamental element of my career, from my university studies through to my current role as a Technical Director of SLR Consulting Ltd, spanning over 30 years. Through my membership I've kept up to date with the rapidly developing sustainability and legal compliance arena and enabled me to feel confident in advising my clients on a wide range of topics. Progression through the membership levels has been rewarding and enabled me to clearly demonstrate my competence to others both internally and externally. Membership of ISEP has been incredibly beneficial to me in my career. When I became a sustainability professional, I had none of the conventional qualifications associated with the role. Joining ISEP - and climbing through the ranks - demonstrated my knowledge and commitment without having to go through lengthy and expensive re-training.
I joined our Institution when it was the Institute of Environmental Management (ISEP) in the early 1990s, and transferred into ISEP in 1999 when it was formed. In 2005, I was appointed the 44th Fellow. My membership has always been an important part of my professional career, and I am proud to have FISEP on my business card, website, and under my signature. The head office staff - particularly all three Chief Executives (prior CEs Russell Foster, and Tim Balcon; and the present one, Sarah Makherjee) - have been particularly helpful to me by supporting my books with professional endorsements. In return, I am proud to offer ISEP CPD opportunities through associated "Microlearning" content and assessments within the later editions. I expect to remain a member of ISEP for all of my life. Yes - it is THAT important to me.
