As the professional body for sustainability leaders across the economy, we support the government’s ambitions to deliver growth, create a zero waste society, decarbonise industry and create opportunities across the UK. The consultation’s objective, to modernise and streamline the current permitting system to "effectively enable[s] the development and commercialisation by industry of technologies and processes that will deliver decarbonisation, a more circular economy and pollution reduction", is an important step in this direction.
Prior to the political party conference season in 2023, ISEP published a series of key asks for policymakers. Following the announcement of the General Election, these asks were updated to reflect changes in the policy landscape and the evolving insights of our members.
