ISEP creating new social sustainability steering group

Social sustainability is an increasingly important element of corporate reporting with the recently issued standard IFRS S1 on sustainability-related financial information set to become a reporting norm.

Further there is a key role for reporting on social sustainability to complement climate reporting as organisations seek to measure and demonstrate their commitment to better ways of doing business.

Our recent surveys amongst ISEP members revealed that information and knowledge-sharing on this topic was a key priority.

As with all our steering groups the aim of the new social sustainability steering group will be to enable sustainability professionals in the ISEP network to improve their professional knowledge and deliver more for their clients and employers in this space.

The steering group will be established with members who have submitted an expression of interest (EOI).

Diversity in the Social Sustainability Steering Group

The steering group will have 10 – 15 members and the EOIs will be evaluated by the relevant members of the ISEP staff team taking into account considerations relating to diversity (demographic technical and sector). The Chair will be elected by members.
